Tournament specifications

These specifications set out what a league or club must meet to run a sanctioned tournament: refereeing, insurance, weigh-in, judogi, venue requirements, medals and a post-event report. Two tiers run in parallel: Tournoi Niveau A (national or international, cadets through seniors) and Tournoi Niveau B (regional, minimes and up), both requiring validation by the National Technical Directorate. It ties the organiser, financially and logistically, to the national refereeing commission, which supplies the referees.

No date is printed in the document. A Niveau A request must be filed six weeks ahead, four for a Niveau B; each tatami requires at least five referees for Niveau A, four for Niveau B. Age categories and bout duration point back to the Sporting and Organisational Code, sanctions to the disciplinary rules. The financial and technical report is due within two weeks.
