Aikido

This text is not a standalone regulation: its pages, numbered 35 to 39, reproduce word for word the aikido chapter of the Sporting and Organisational Code, immediately after the “Commission Nationale des Grades” section detailed in the grade examination regulations. Hence its single subject: grades specific to aikido, from brown belt to 5th dan, covering age, seniority, jury and scoring, and — its most detailed part — the homologation of a foreign Aikikai grade.

No date appears in it. It binds aikido practitioners seeking promotion, the national grading commission that appoints exam juries, and the instructors who award the lower kyu grades themselves. The minimum age ranges from 15 (brown belt) to 30 (5th dan); the jury has at least two members, each graded two ranks above the candidate, and the average of their scores must reach 10 out of 20.
